Setting up WordPress blog

Getting this site up and running on my own host box was brief.  On the other hand providing the content and customization of the site theme that takes time. It is going to be ongoing effort.

I found my own Xen VM hosting solution by researching at http://lowendbox.com/. It has been sitting idle or barely serving me to experiment with some server set-up experiments.

Eventually I decided to run my own blog to allow me to record my doings into some organized form, which I could use later as a reference.

The added value is that I am sharing my experiences with everyone. Hence you may be able to find possible solutions to your problems on this blog. I will be glad if any of the content here will allow to speed up solving your technology related problems.

I wanted to keep the amount of plug-ins down to minimum. One of them I found useful is “WP SyntaxHighlighter” to do code/configuration syntax highlighting – http://www.near-mint.com/blog/software/wp-syntaxhighlighter

WP SyntaxHighlighter in action:

public class HelloWorld {
   public static void main(String[] args) {
      System.out.println("Hello, World");
   }
}
